Energy Healing

Energetic Healing

Energetic healing, previously regarded with scepticism by some, is now becoming more accepted within the natural health world.

But what is it and what does it do?

Energetic healing is actually an umbrella term for a wide range of modalities, some many thousands of years old, which aim to assist our body’s innate healing mechanisms to regain balance.  More specifically, it is using energy to work with the energy circuits in our physical or subtle bodies to restore balance and optimise wellbeing. Energetic healing practitioners look beyond the physical realm to a person’s subtle energy systems, including chakras and meridians, where the cause of disease or imbalance can often be located. A range of life experiences, traumas and unhelpful beliefs can be stored in our energetic systems, potentially causing illness and restricting us from achieving our full potential. Energetic healing can facilitate positive change and healing by clearing blockages and repairing and rebalancing our energy.

Some of the wide range of energetic healing modalities include:

Reiki – channelling universal energy to optimise wellbeing;

Colour therapy – drawing upon the unique healing energies of different colours to restore and promote health and well-being;

Kinesiology – working to regain balance using muscle testing to remove energy blockages;

Acupuncture/Acupressure – clearing blocks in the energy pathways or meridians of the body;

Flower and Vibrational essences – a focus on the whole person, using natural energy vibrations to restore balance.

But how does it actually work?

Interestingly, despite the primary focus many of us have on our physical being, as humans we are actually energetic systems. Every cell in our body stores and transmits energy and even our thoughts, feelings and emotions are all energy based. Through these energetic systems our consciousness affects our physical and emotional health. Thus, a physical illness or disease can often be traced to an imbalance in our subtle energies. Energetic healing works along our energetic pathways to remove blockages and unhelpful energy and rebalance using fresh positive energy. In this way balance, harmony and wellbeing can be maintained and/or restored.

Benefits

One of the most amazing things about energetic healing is its inherent wisdom that can go to the source of the problem and help bring about profound change for a person’s highest good. Also, it can be used with great success as a prevention tool, recognising and rebalancing any energetic imbalances before they filter down into the physical and emotional systems. In many cases energetic healing sessions may be conducted online or via distance healing, meaning clients may be able to experience healing and support from the comfort of their own homes. This has proven to be of great benefit to those seeking treatments but unable to travel to their preferred therapist or practitioner or for whom this is not practical.

Energetic healing may be used on its own or in conjunction with other natural and allopathic therapies. In fact, many therapists choose to combine different styles of energy healing with other health and wellness techniques, thereby offering a unique range of skills and support for their clients.  It is usually non-invasive and in some cases discussion or explanation of the problem is not even required. This can be of great benefit in the case of people who find verbalising their issues difficult for a variety of reasons. With a little knowledge and guidance, it is also possible to use many types of energetic healing on oneself on a daily basis.
