Membership

The Australian Holistic Healers and Counsellors Association (AHHCA) welcomes members trained in one or more modalities that facilitate whole person focused holistic health and wellbeing.

How do I know which membership level I should choose?

  • You are currently studying holistic healing and/or counselling and wish to be mentored by a quality professional association = Student Membership
  • You are/want to practice and have undertaken at least 100 hours of training (you also need to obtain professional indemnity insurance) = Full Membership
  • You are/want to practice and have undertaken at least 250 hours of training (you also need to have a First Aid qualification  and obtain professional indemnity insurance) = Clinical Membership
  • We are a health / wellness centre or other health and wellness business (with insurance) and want to ally ourselves with the AHHCA = Affiliated Organisation
  • You are an individual, you align yourself with our aims and objectives, and want to be our friend and stay in the loop = Associated Membership
  • You are already an AHHCA member and want to start teaching (you need to have a government accredited teaching qualification OR you have a license or certificate from the governing body, lineage or owner of the copyright of a modality to say that they are authorized to teach that modality, plus have a First Aid Certificate if you are teaching LIVE) = Approved Trainer
  • You are already an AHHCA Approved Trainer and want to start teaching a course of at least 100 hours, AND would like to have your course accredited with the AHHCA = Education Provider

We offer many levels of membership to suit each stage of your career.

AHHCA Membership Requirements

Approved Trainer As for full or clinical membership plus;

Have a teaching qualification
or other government approved qualification (Cert IV Training & Assessment, Dip Ed, etc) and can demonstrate mastery in your area of expertise:

Have a license or certificate from the governing body, lineage or owner of the copyright of a modality to say that you are authorised to teach that modality.

or

Have proof of education in the field and/or worked in field for min 5 years with references from clients.

or

You own the copyright of the content you will teach.

  • Level II First Aid certificate plus CPR or equivalent Basic life support (Unless course delivery is all online).
  • Professional Indemnity insurance to also cover teaching
  • 30 hours of professional development per year
  • Pay annual renewal fee
Full Member A minimum of 100 hours of an AHHCA accredited or approved AHHCA course. Course may be a single or multiple modalities.
  • Professional Indemnity insurance
  • 30 hours of professional development per year
  • Pay annual renewal fee
Clinical Member A minimum of 250 hours of an AHHCA accredited or approved course. Course may be a single or multiple modalities.
  • Professional Indemnity insurance
  • Current First Aid
  • 30 hours of professional development per year
  • Pay annual renewal fee
Student Member To be enrolled in an AHHCA accredited or approved course. (Enrolment must be current).
  • Submit annual renewal information
  • Maximum 3 years
Non-Practicing Member Not currently practicing – must have previously been a practicing member
  • Pay annual renewal fee
Life Member Granted to an individual who has been a full or certificate member of the association for 15 continuous years with a minimum of 5 of those years held in office.
  • If Approved Trainer, Current First Aid
  • Professional Indemnity insurance
  • 30 hours of professional development per year
  • Submit annual renewal information
Associate Member Anyone with an interest in holistic healing may join as an associate member.
  • Pay annual renewal fee
Affiliated Organisation Organisations that clearly demonstrate their relationship to healing, body, mind and spirit.

Courses offered by an affiliated organisation can be used for Professional Development hours.
